But first…there is often confusion about what these terms   mean. 

Coaching is an interactive process between a coach and a coachee aimed at developing the latter’s capabilities or solving performance problems. The process is based on technical assistance, personal support and individual challenge and is held together by a strong collaborative bond between the coach and coachee.  Coaching is essentially about your job and tends to be relatively short term in duration.
