Leadership – Acting with Power

Is it more important to say the right thing or act the right way? Professor Deborah Gruenfeld, the Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, provides compelling research about how we perceive power in our relationships, examining the words we use, non-verbal cues and the ways in which we communicate. She shares how we can most effectively get our message across here.

A social psychologist, Professor Gruenfeld examines how people respond to their own power and powerlessness. The author of numerous articles on power and on group behavior, she teaches in many of Stanford’s executive education programs. She also co-directs the Stanford Executive Program for Women Leaders, is a member of LeanIn.org’s board of directors and is developing a curriculum for educating women and girls in developing economies.
